Members of the Action and Solidarity Party call on the Central Election Commission to open 198 polling stations abroad - 59 more than in the presidential elections. The PDS has stated one hundred thousand Moldovan citizens to have registered for the early elections in 2021,  ipn.md reported. “In 2020, more than 250,000 citizens voted outside the country in the presidential elections. Thanks to you, we managed to free the presidential institution from thieves. On July 11, we have a chance to free us from thieves, and without the diaspora it will be difficult to do this,” said the acting chairman of the PDS, Igor Grosu. MP Sergiu Litvinenco noted that in the 2020 presidential elections, as you know, the turnout in the elections was impressive. “Unfortunately, in some polling stations, many citizens did not have enough ballots, and for others, participation in the vote meant several hours of waiting in line or huge distances to the polling station,” the deputy said. The PDS requires the expansion of polling stations in some cities in Germany, Ireland, Great Britain, France, Italy, Israel, the United States, etc. According to the MPs, there were huge queues at the polling stations of these states in previous elections, and the number of ballots was insufficient. PDS deputy Galina Sajin recalled that citizens can vote in early parliamentary elections, even if they have not registered in advance on the CEC website. Registration is an additional activity with the role of informing the authorities about the localities where Moldovan citizens live. In addition, voters can exercise this right on the basis of an ID card with an insert, a valid or expired passport, or on the basis of a seafarer's card.
