The total number of Moldovan citizens with the right to vote registered in the State Register of Voters at the stage of completing the electoral list updating procedure is 3,282,837. This data was announced by the Central Election Commission, infotag.md reports. Compared to last year's presidential elections, the number of voters decreased by 4,303. The CEC noted that 2,786,446 people belong to the second-tier territorial-administrative units. The difference is due to persons with Moldovan citizenship who do not have registration at home or at the place of residence, including those who emigrated abroad (237,700), and citizens with the right to vote registered in territorial-administrative units on the left bank of the Dniester (256,203), uncontrolled to the Moldovan authorities. As the CEC noted, most of the voters are registered in the Chisinau municipality - 642, 574, in Gagauzia - 130, 292 and Balti - 102, 360. And the least - in the Basarabeasca region - 23 818, Dubasari - 28, 859 and Donduseni - 32, 121. The Central Election Commission called on citizens to check the correctness of the data indicated in the register. This can be done at the electoral bureau at the place of registration or on the CEC website. Changes to the electoral lists can be made no later than July 10.
