On July 26, President Maia Sandu spoke at the constituent session of the 11th convocation of Parliament. The Head of State called the new parliamentary majority "honest and reformist" and thanked citizens for their "faith in democracy".
Sandu said that order “must start with parliament,” and MPs must be an example for all people.
“After so many failures for 30 years, at least now, we are going to build a state for all people, and not for a “clique”. The time has come for a real revolution in governing the country, when politicians and institutions serve the interests of society,” the president said.
Sandu called on everyone to be ready for hard work in order to improve the life of the elderly, to stop emigration, and to create jobs. The new government, which "will be approved in the coming days", according to the president, will have to save Moldova from unprofitable contracts, restore the operation of enterprises, and attract investments to the country.
On top of that, Sandu promised that the parliamentary majority, the new government and the president "will work together." “The time is over when good laws remained only on paper,” the head of state added.
