Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu paid a working visit to Poland on October 18-19.
The official announced the results of the trip on his Facebook official page.
Spinu noted that he had several high-level meetings, and the main topic discussed was the supply of natural gas and the search for solutions to overcome the current crisis in the Republic of Moldova.
“I met with the Secretary of State of the Chancellery of the President of Poland and the Head of the International Political Bureau Jakub Kumoch, as well as with the Special Representative for Moldova of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland Adam Eberhardt. I informed them about the situation in which our country is on the gas market today.
I also met with the Minister of Energy of Warsaw Piotr Naimski. We talked about a long-term partnership in the supply of natural gas from Poland. This is a bilateral project, which we are approaching with all seriousness, because our goal is to make energy sources as diverse and adequate as possible to overcome such a major crisis. Poland is a friendly state and a reliable partner of the Republic of Moldova in the European Union.
I had a meeting with the PGNiG vice-president (Polish state enterprise) Artur Ceslik. We discussed natural gas capacities we can get from the Polish state.
I spoke with the chairman of the board of directors of GAZ-SYSTEM Tomas Stepien. During the discussions, we talked about technical solutions that we can implement together with our Polish partners to supply natural gas to our country,” said Andrei Spinu.
The minister promised to provide an update as the authorities move forward in resolving this crisis.
