Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu held a press conference, at which he explained the situation with the Gazprom’s ultimatum.
Thus, Moldovagaz will be allotted 1.4 billion lei assigned from the state budget for Energocom to make payments on the debt to Gazprom, unimedia.info reports.
“We have made adjustments to the 2021 budget. According to the decision by the Emergency Commission, 1.7 billion lei was allocated for Energocom, of which 1.4 billion lei will be assigned to Moldovagaz to repay the debt. I remind you that this decision was voted for in the first reading last week, and on Thursday the Parliament will vote for this draft amendment in the second reading, following which the money will be available,” Spinu said.
The minister also noted that he “regrets that Gazprom decided to notify Moldova in this way.”
