Medvedev said that Russia would not withdraw its troops from Donbas or Crimea observing the “will of local residents”. Moscow said that the ceasefire conditions voiced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are “unfeasible and categorical”. The deputy head of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, wrote this on Telegram Thursday evening, May 26. “The demands that Zelensky puts forward for a ceasefire are categorical to the point of idiocy and unfeasible altogether,” Medvedev said. He added that the Russian Federation cannot withdraw troops from Donbass because “the will of local residents is important to them”. Also, Russia does not recognize Crimea and Donbass as Ukrainian, which Medvedev said was a demand of the Ukrainian side. As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that there will be no negotiations with the Russian Federation until the occupation troops leave the territories they have seized since February 24. Meanwhile, Putin said that the Ukrainian leadership should “recognize the situation de facto” and accept Russia’s demands. Корреспондент
