Former Prime Minister Ion Chicu has expressed concern that “in October 2022, State Budget revenues were lower than in October 2021 by 429 million lei, that is, by 8.3%”. Moreover, Chicu notes that amid inflation of 34% and an increase of at least 35% in imports, State Budget revenues in the period January-October 2022 increased by only 20.7% compared to the corresponding period in 2021. “This includes both taxes and fees, as well as grants, which, according to Maia Sandu’s generous promises, were supposed to grow exponentially. This is where the “billion-dollar schemes” come into play, which Maia Sandu’s appointees are "fighting” as hard as they can. Amidst decreasing revenues and huge increase in expenses, lack of promised grants and unprecedented corruption, Maia Sandu is making unhappy the future generations of Moldovans by taking out huge loans at unaffordable interest rates. On the first day of November 2022, the Finance Ministry took more than 1.3 billion lei at 22% per year. The only “positive” thing about these figures is that they are much better than what we will have in 2023. “Maia Sandu, banish the “cousins”. They have no responsibility towards the people or the state,” Chicu posted on social media. Point
