Energocom has signed a contract with the MGRES for the supply of electricity in January 2023. The details about this contract for Vocea Basarabiei portal were reported by the company’s director Victor Birzari. He said the minimum amount of electricity to be purchased will be 251,000 MWh and the maximum will be 263,000 MWh versus 204,000 MWh in December 2022. “So, we’re now discussing a contract with MGRES that is a minimum of 251,000 MWh and a maximum of 263,000 MWh. It depends a lot on the weather outside, gas volumes and a lot of other factors that affect that aspect. We will try to take the maximum amount of electricity from Transnistria. What does not comply with the planned 253,000 MWh, except for resources that are produced inside the country, we will try to determine through contracts with suppliers and producers of electricity in Romania,” Victor Birzari explained. At the same time, the head of Energocom stressed that the purchase price of electricity from the MGRES remains unchanged – $73/MWh. “The price of electricity in Romania is 90 euros, the price of electricity purchased from the MGRES has not changed – $73/MWh. The amount that will be needed during peak hours, we will buy from Romania,” Victor Birzari stressed.
