The National Army will hold 2023 Bastion Aerian joint international air defense exercise from May 25 to June 2 in order to ensure security measures during the second summit of the European Political Community. As the Ministry of Defense specified, the exercises will be held in the training centers of the National Army and in the surrounding areas, including more than 200 Moldovan, French, British, Romanian and American military personnel. The 2023 Bastion Aerian exercises to be held for the first time in our country, are aimed at training the air defense units of the National Army and increase the level of interoperability between the partner countries participating in the exercises. Also, the military will provide air defense of the facilities designated as part of the summit. The Ministry of Defense reports that the exercises will include the military equipment of the National Army, as well as the French, Romanian and British armies. The Ministry noted that military transport units will enter our country from May 25 to 27 via the Leuseni checkpoint. Technical units will move along the Leuseni - Chisinau - Bulboaca Military Training Base route, together with traffic police.
