Three UAVs crashed into residential buildings in the capital, one of them was carrying explosives that did not detonate. Most of the drones were shot down on approach to Moscow. Early on Tuesday morning, Moscow and the region were attacked by drones. Most of the UAVs were reportedly shot down by air defense systems when approaching the capital, but the exact number has not yet been established. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Kyiv used 8 aircraft-type drones, and all of them were hit. Three were “buttoned up by electronic warfare, lost control and deviated from their intended targets,” and the other five were shot down by the Pantsir-S Air Defense System in the Moscow region. Nevertheless, three drones, one of which carried explosive devices that did not detonate, crashed into multi-storey buildings in New Moscow, the western and southwestern districts of the capital. Residents have been evacuated, sappers and emergency services are working. The morning attack was confirmed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov, having urged residents to keep calm. Earlier, the air defense operation was reported in the Istra, Krasnogorsk and Odintsovo Districts of Moscow Region. According to some reports, modified drones, previously unknown to experts, were used in the attack.
