The head of state says that an agreement on Moldova’s participation in the EU Single Market Programme has been signed today in Brussels.
The programme will help to prepare the private sector and public institutions for the European rules and standards and will enhance the access of Moldovan products and services to the European markets. The programme also encourages the creation of start-ups and the development of competitive and sustainable SMEs and provides access to the experience and best practices of EU Member States.
“The signing of this agreement is an important step towards the gradual integration of our country into the EU single market and a firm commitment to modernize and bring Moldova in line with European standards. A competitive and strong economy means well-paid jobs at home and a higher standard of living for citizens,” President Maia Sandu said.
