The figure of 5,200 military personnel is higher than the 800 troops it was initially predicted would be sent.
The U.S. Department of Defense will send an additional 5,000 troops to the border with Mexico, The Wall Street Journal reports by on Monday, October 29th. It is noted that last week at the Pentagon talked about the dispatch of 800 military in connection with the approaching caravan of migrants.
Earlier it was reported that the third caravan of migrants was moving towards the United States. This time it is about 300 people left El Salvador.
In the meantime, migrants who continue to move along Mexico towards the U.S. border need to travel about another 1600 kilometers. Migrants from El Salvador still have to overcome 120 km to the border with Guatemala and 300 km more to get to the border of Mexico.
