Sanction list was expanded “to protect the interests of the Russian state, companies and citizens of Russia”, noted Dmitry Medvedev. Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev on Tuesday, December 25, signed a decree expanding the list of individuals and legal entities of Ukraine subject to special restrictive measures. “The list of individuals and legal entities of Ukraine subjected to special restrictive measures is expanded. I signed the relevant resolution”, Medvedev wrote in Twitter. Medvedev added that “this was made to protect the interests of the Russian state, companies and citizens of Russia”. In turn, Interfax, referring to information from the Government of the Russian Federation, reports that "lists of individuals and legal entities subjected to special economic measures are applied have been expanded in total to more than 200 individuals and organizations”. It should be recalled that on November 1, Dmitry Medvedev signed a resolution on retaliatory measures against the sanctions of Ukraine. It was reported that the restrictions will affect 322 individuals and 68 legal entities. They provide for the freezing of monetary resources, securities and property as well as a ban on the withdrawal of capital from Russia. Earlier, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko put into effect the decision of the National Security Council, which expanded the sanctions against Russian legal entities and individuals as well as extended the restrictive measures imposed in previous years.
