The construction of the fence on the Russian-Ukrainian part of the border in the north of the Crimea has been completed, the press service of the Crimean border department of the FSB told RIA Novosti. The staff of the department also completed the “most complicated system of alarm sensors” setup in the area of ​​the Isthmus of Perekop on the border with Ukraine. “The boundary of engineering structures consists of several types of barriers with a length of more than 60 km and several hundreds of sensors of various types of actions placed on it, arranged both in a hidden and open way, as well as equipped with video surveillance systems, including thermal imaging equipment for more effective control of the terrain in the dark and in conditions of poor visibility”, told the FSB. There are two alarm systems on the border. The first is based on vibration sensors gives an alarm signal when a border violator approaches the fence. The second one is based on radio-beam sensors, including cameras with night vision and video broadcasting, told the FSB.
