Volodymyr Zelensky said that the former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko was pushing people to hold a maidan (wave of demonstrations) targeted against the separation of forces in Zolote and Petrovske, TASS reports. According to Zelensky , there will be no bloodshed in the event of the organization of mass rallies called for by the fifth president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. “He is against separation of forces, and it seems to him that in this regard there may be Maidan to happen. He gives people a spur a little with his media and his activiries,” said Volodymyr Zelensky talking with reporters. The head of Ukraine also said that he was ready for the dialogue with people who are ready to demonstrate. The Donbass Contact Group on October 1 signed the Steinmeier Formula, which caused controversy in Ukraine. The politicians call the document a threat and a trap. The Steinmeier Formula provides for local elections in the self-proclaimed Lugansk and Donetsk people’s republics (LPR and DPR). The document states that the Ukrainian side should adopt a special law according to which elections will be held in the territories of uncontrolled regions, on the day of which the law on the special status of Donbass will enter into force on a temporary basis. It will become permanent after the publication of a report on whether elections have passed and whether they meet the requirements of democracy. The text does not contain a clause on the withdrawal of troops or transfer of control over the border to Ukraine.
