Former Romanian President and Member of the European Parliament Traian Basescu called on the European Union to intervene and persuade PDM and ACUM bloc to form a ruling coalition.
“There is a paradox in Moldova: the opposition, which consists of two pro-European parties, provides assistance to the tough minority government of Dodon. It is time for the European Union, which invests money, to appeal to two opposition leaders to fulfill their duty to the Republic of Moldova, taking reins and reorienting the country to the West,” Basescu said in the European Parliament, cotidianul.md reports.
The former Romanian president insisted earlier on this idea, however, the ACUM bloc claims that they cannot initiate discussions on this issue because the PDM needs to be reformed.
