“The best way to eradicate corruption and provide conditions for a serious Metalferos investigation is to denationalize it,” Prime Minister Ion Chicu said. He expressed such an opinion on his Facebook page on Tuesday, commenting on a heavy criticism from the “independent press” and “motley analysts” that fell upon him, infotag.md reports. “I invite the press and analysts to monitor the privatization process. We have already turned to development partners for support in ensuring a transparent and efficient process for selling this asset,” the prime minister said, proposing the “mass media that were previously paid in bulk from money stolen from and not only state enterprises, to try and work for society.” Chicu announced the government’s intention to privatize the state enterprise in the near future the previous morning. “There will be one monopoly less in the country, which means less trouble. The airport and the airline are next,” he said.
