The United States supports the creation of effective justice in the Republic of Moldova, and the sanctions imposed on former PDM leader Vlad Plahotniuc are clear evidence in this regard. As shown by the sanctions imposed on Vlad Plahotniuc this month, the United States pledges to help Moldova fight corruption and improve the rule of law.” The US Ambassador welcomed the stated commitment of the Republic of Moldova to the implementation of justice reforms. He called on the current government to cooperate in this regard with opposition parties and civil society. Justice Minister Fadei Nagacevschi promised the US ambassador that the Chisinau government would follow the US recommendations. “I assure you that the Government of the Republic of Moldova is aware that to ensure the effectiveness of this reform, the broadest possible participation in all measures and actions to reform the justice system is necessary, and we will work effectively, side by side, both with political parties and with the Moldovan civil society,” assured the Minister of Justice Fadei Nagacevschi.
