According to the Moldovan President, Chisinau counts on the assistance of the Albanian OSCE Chairmanship in the Transdniestrian settlement negotiations. This was stated by President Igor Dodon following the meeting with the OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, tass.ru reports. “We discussed a wide range of issues concerning the relations between the Republic of Moldova and this international organization, including with regard to strengthening the rule of law, protecting human rights and holding free elections. We paid special attention to the current state and prospects for resolving the Transdniestrian problem, where the OSCE has traditionally been acting as the main negotiating forum. I pointed out the need to continue the “small steps policy” and further implementation of the “Berlin +” protocol,” Dodon wrote on his Facebook page. According to him, Chisinau counts on the assistance of the Albanian OSCE Chairmanship in the Transdniestrian settlement negotiations. This week, Dodon said that in order to solve the Transdniestrian problem, agreement is needed both at the country and international level. He admitted that Chisinau is not ready for this yet and therefore will focus on solving current problems in relations with Tiraspol.
