Former President of the Republic of Moldova Vladimir Voronin believes that the current parliament is a “national catastrophe”. According to him, in order to take the country out of the “swamp”, it is necessary to repeat the scenario of 2001, when the PCRM came to power with 71 seats in the legislative body, agora.md reports. “This is not parliament, this is a mockery. There is even nothing to discuss. There are only defectors, scandals and bribes. This is truly a national disaster. It is difficult to call it even a bazaar, since even the bazaar has its own rules,” Voronin said on the air of the Politica program on TV8. At the same program, the PCRM President said that the favorable scenario for the Republic of Moldova would be similar to the scenario of 2001, when the communists had a parliamentary majority. “The situation of April 2001 must be repeated when the communists came to power with 71 seats and ruled the country. They worked for the country for eight years. It must happen again. And let this party be the PCRM, which laid the foundation for a new Moldova, absolutely democratic and normal. This is a way out of the situation. Let the PCRM come to power. This is what we need if we want to lead the country out of the swamp and get rid of the mafia and banditry,” the former President of the Republic of Moldova said. When asked if he sees any other party capable of taking a majority in parliament, Voronin gave a negative reply. “I don’t see anyone because they are all dirty from head to toe,” the politician said.
