During the Sunday protest, Moldovan President-elect Maia Sandu demanded that government immediately resign. Sandu's supporters and representatives of various political formations, gathered on Sunday in the square in front of the government building. They blocked traffic in the center of the Moldovan capital, police cordoned off the building of the Cabinet of Ministers. The people brought with flags of Moldova and posters to call for Prime Minister Ion Chicu’s resignation and the incumbent President Igor Dodon’s imprisonment for corruption,  ria.ru reported. "There’s only one way we can stop the mockery of the people - to hold early parliamentary elections and this requires one thing – and for that we need government’s resignation. The government must immediately resign and start the procedure for parliament dissolving," Sandu said. According to her, the actions of the government and parliament against the people forced people to take to the streets at the height of the pandemic. She promised to fight to the end and bring about change in the country.
