Igor Dodon noted that today, the majority of Constitutional Court’s judges (three out of three out of) usurped the highest court of Moldova in the area of country’s president’s interests.  Thus, they grossly violated the decisions of the constitutional norms adopted over the past years, the recommendations of the Council of Europe and the Venice Commission. Igor Dodon wrote about in his Telegram channel, aif.md reported. The PSRM chairman does not recognize the judges' verdict and notes that it is comparable to the decisions of the Constitutional Court of June 2019, when Plahotniuc tried to use the pocket Constitutional Court to dissolve parliament and call early parliamentary elections in the hope of getting more mandates for his party. “In 2019, these attempts were recognized as a usurpation of power by the parliamentary majority and the international community and were subsequently declared illegal whilst the members of the Constitutional Court received a vote of no confidence and resigned. I am sure that we have all witnessed Maia Sandu’s attempts to usurp power using three judges of the Constitutional Court in the style of a fugitive oligarch. The response to these attempts may be the same as in 2019: non-recognition of the Constitutional Court's decision, a vote of no confidence in three members of the Constitutional Court demanding their resignation, an appeal to international partners to intervene and stop these attempts at a constitutional coup in order to restore the rule of law in the Republic of Moldova, - he emphasizes.  Recall, today the Constitutional Court acknowledged the existence of circumstances for parliament dissolution.
