Gas tariff for end consumers may increase again. Moldovagaz sent a corresponding request to the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) on January 21. “Moldovagaz JSC has sent a request to the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) to increase the average tariff for the supply of natural gas to end consumers at regulated prices in 2022 from 9,227 to 13,418 lei per thousand cubic meters. Thus, the tariff for natural gas at the points of exit from low-pressure gas distribution networks is proposed to be increased from 10,196 lei to 14,437 lei per thousand cubic meters, medium pressure from 8,586 to 12,827 lei, high pressure from 8,268 to 12,509 lei per thousand cubic meters,” the ministry’s press release says. In terms of gas transmission networks, the tariff is proposed to be increased from 7,771 to 11,987 lei per thousand cubic meters at entry points, and from 8,059 to 12,296 lei at exit points. Department officials explained that the main factor that created the need to revise tariffs was a significant increase in purchase prices. According to the calculations by Moldovagaz JSC, the new tariffs should come into force from January 1, 2022. The tariff for natural gas at regulated prices is approved by the ANRE at an open meeting. Point
