The promulgation decree and the Law on the execution of certain decisions of the Constitutional Court were published in today’s Monitorul Oficial and entered into force. For instance, as of today the phrase “Moldovan language” will be replaced by the phrase “Romanian language” in all Moldovan legislation. Also the phrases “official language”, “state language” and “native language” will be replaced, moldpres.md reports. Provisions of the law include the consideration of the outdated Latin-based text in Article 13 of the Constitution. Within 30 days from the entry into force of the law, the public authorities vested with the competence to adopt, approve or issue normative acts under the law shall adopt the necessary amendments. At the same time, the national holiday “Limba noastră”, as it is currently called in the Parliament Decision on memorable days, holidays and days off and in the Labor Code, will be called “Limba română”. The Agency of Legal Information Resources, within 30 days from the date of enactment of this Law, shall ensure the introduction in the information system “State Register of Legal Acts” of the necessary amendments to all the legislation of the Republic of Moldova, including to the Constitution of the country, as per its meaning.
