On 5 May, the first 20 servicemen from the National Army received certificates marking the completion of a vocational training program at the TechZone center. During the course, the servicemen went through the entire manufacturing process, from computer-aided design in SolidWorks to the creation of the finished product, working in small groups under the guidance of TechZone trainers. The final assessment included comprehensive practical tests, during which the servicemen demonstrated their skills in operating CNC (computer numerical control) equipment, cutting, bending and laser welding, reports logos-press.md. “With this first group, the program confirms the effectiveness of cooperation between the defense sector, education and industry, contributing to the training of a skilled workforce adapted to the modern market requirements in the Republic of Moldova,” noted Marin Ciobanu, chief administrator of the Balti Free Economic Zone, within which TechZone operates. In the future, special support programs will be launched for some military personnel to set up “turnkey” businesses, in which they will have owner status. These initiatives are aimed at utilizing the skills acquired and facilitating the transition to production activities in the technical sector within a framework of autonomy and entrepreneurial responsibility. The TechZone was established within the Balti Free Economic Zone with the support of the Government of the Republic of Moldova through the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, as well as with the support of strategic partners: the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Government of the United States of America, the Innovate Moldova program funded by Sweden and the United Kingdom, as well as private sector partners.
