The court ordered PAS to remove a publication that reported on Olesea Stamate’s expulsion from the party after several life-sentenced prisoners were released as a result of amendments to the amnesty law. According to the court’s decision, Olesea Stamate’s claim against PAS for the protection of her honor, dignity, and professional reputation, as well as for the refutation of defamatory information, public apologies, and the recovery of legal expenses, was partially satisfied, according to zdg.md. If the decision is enforced, PAS will be required to publicly refute the “defamatory information” published on the party’s official Facebook page on April 4, 2025, by posting the following text of the refutation: “On April 4, 2025, a post was published on the official Facebook page of the Action and Solidarity Party, in which Ms. Olesea Stamate was erroneously accused of actions related to changes in the Amnesty Law. The Action and Solidarity Party acknowledges that the allegations of a ‘well-organized scheme’, ‘abuse of trust’, and alleged ‘deliberate actions’ to facilitate the release of ‘dangerous prisoners’ are not supported by evidence and do not reflect the reality or factual circumstances. We publicly apologize to Ms. Olesea Stamate for the dissemination of this erroneous information, which has damaged her public image, professional reputation, and personal dignity”. The court also ruled that PAS may be required to publish a retraction on the party’s official website within 5 days of the ruling’s entry into force, and it must remain visible for at least 30 calendar days. A fee of 200 lei was collected from the Action and Solidarity Party in favor of Olesea Stamate. The decision can be appealed to the Court of Appeal within 30 days from the date of announcement of the resolution part of the decision through the Chisinau Court (Center Office).
