The Moldovan parliament has postponed the voting on amendment of the Constitution through the introduction of the syntagm “European integration” as a single strategic vector of state development. The voting for a draft on amendment of the Constitution through the introduction of the syntagm “European integration” has been postponed, said Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu on Oktober 13, after past parliamentary debates, UKRINFORM reports. “I am disappointed with the events in the parliament. Political and party interests were put above the national interests of Moldova. Following the well-known saying that wisdom comes over the years, I propose to postpone voting on this issue for a week”, Candu noted. The speaker expressed hope that the time given to parliamentarians will allow them to realize that the inclusion of the European integration vector into the Constitution is a unique chance to make the vector of integration into the EU irreversible, for the sake of future generations of Moldova. On October 12, the Moldovan Parliament discussed the legislative initiative of the ruling coalition led by the Democratic Party to include the syntagm “European integration” in the Constitution as a single strategic vector of development of the country.
