Ukraine proposes Georgia and Moldova to jointly strengthen the security of the Black Sea region. Ukraine proposes to include strengthening of the security of the Black Sea region in the further process of intensified association with Georgia and Moldova. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin during the First International Conference “Odessa Debates. Association of Ukraine, the Black Sea region and the transatlantic partners” in Odessa, the UNN correspondent reports. The minister noted that today they will discuss with international partners what can be done together. “Our Georgian friends, Moldova, are countries that should go forward along the European path. Why not make strengthening the security of the Black Sea region a part of the further process of a strengthened association? Or we and Georgian friends – we will definitely get membership in NATO, but until, not being members of NATO, we must cooperate in ensuring that the Black Sea is a sea of security, values and principles, to exercise freedom of navigation here,” he said.
