This stated Katharina Maternova, Deputy Director General for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission. The statement was made during a press conference held following the discussion with the President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu on the program for the Republic of Moldova worth 600 million euros, deschide.md reported. “The main conditions for the implementation of the plan are the orientation of the government and parliament towards reforms. Here is an example: within the framework of macro-financial assistance, which is currently provided in the Republic of Moldova, the second tranche will be received in mid-September, subject to the adoption of two laws by the parliament. The first one is about customs legislation. The second is about the national institute for integration and compatibility. This may take place when there is a parliament ready to adopt such laws on reforms,” Maternova said. Maia Sandu added that another condition of this plan is progress in investigating the theft of the billion. Maternova also announced that the funds are planned to be distributed as follows: component 1 in the amount of 220 million euros will be directed to the management of public finances, component 2 will amount to 100 million to support small and medium-sized businesses. Component 3 in the amount of 230 million is invested in infrastructure, including the protection of the Dniester River. Component 4 is 25 million euros to support education and another 25 million euros from component 5 to reform the justice system and fight corruption. The economic recovery plan in the amount of 600 million euros was approved by the European Commission for the Republic of Moldova. The plan is based on five pillars: public financial management and economic governance; competitive economy, trade and small and medium business; infrastructure; education and employment of citizens; and also - reform of the rule of law and justice.
