Ukrainian Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Turchynov had the meeting with Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic. During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed bilateral cooperation in resolving the Transnistria issue. In addition, the parties paid attention to the organization of the international observers control over the ammunition depot in the village of Kolbasna on the territory of Transnistria, located 1.5 km from the Ukrainian border. Turchynov said that the Russian Federation has grossly violated its obligations to clear ammunition and weapons located on the Russian military base and added that “its military contingent, kept there illegally, is the cause of destabilization in the region”. “We have supported and will continue to support Moldova, we have common European integration path”, - stressed Turchynov and added that our country is ready for active cooperation on the raised issues. In her turn, C. Lesnic has emphasized that Moldova is committed to European values ​​and considers our country a reliable partner, and therefore “is interested in intensifying further cooperation with Ukraine, in particular, in terms of demilitarization of Transnistria and its further integration into Moldova”.
