Kyiv has a New Way to Purchase Gas from Russia

Representative of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in the Cabinet of Ministers Andriy Gerus proposed a new way to purchase Russian gas. He offered the leaders of the Opposition Platform – for Life Yuriy Boyko and Viktor Medvedchuk to supply gas from Russia through private companies. For this purpose they need neither the power, nor the new President, nor the old President, they need to buy it, to bring to Ukraine and to sell, – he told for 112 Ukraine. On June 7 Medvedchuk at the meeting with the head of Gazprom Alexey Miller said that to reduce gas prices the new Kyiv authorities need to re-enter into contracts with the Russian energy company for direct gas supplies. For his part, Miller confirmed his readiness to start negotiations on the supplying of Russian gas to Ukraine at a price 25% lower than the current one, News.ru reports. Earlier, the head of the National Development Strategy Platform Dmitry Spivak said that Ukraine was completely dependent on Russia. According to him, Kyiv cannot improve its energy security.
