Grechanii: We will not Create Imaginary Story of Success

The speaker noted that during the negotiations with the European official Moldova’s readiness to promote a balanced foreign policy was confirmed. “I am very pleased to tell you that I returned the night before to be here today, after the meeting with the President of the European Parliament David-Maria Sassoli. It was a pleasure to meet with him, we gave him all the guarantees that we were working, that the Republic of Moldova wanted to promote a balanced foreign policy, to be friends with all States. It is important that the Association Agreement that we signed with the EU really become functional. We do not intend to turn into the previous government and create an imaginary “story of success” we all regret now,” Zinaida Grechanii said. The speaker discussed with the ambassadors issues related to institutional reforms, general local elections and subsequent bilateral relations. “We are waiting for provocations at every step, but we, all together, must cope with all difficulties. We all discuss current issues together and make decisions on how to proceed. I am grateful for the talks with Commissioner Hahn on the unblocking of funds for macro-financial assistance to the budget of the Republic of Moldova,” Grechanii said. In turn, the head of the European Union delegation to Chisinau, Peter Michalko, highly appreciated the strong signal confirmed at the meeting with the President of the European Parliament on the commitment of Moldova to the Association Agreement.
