Dodon Spoke about the Intention of Moldova to Restore Relations with Russia

Chisinau is striving to restore strategic relations with Russia, Moldovan President Igor Dodon said during a meeting with U.S. House of Representatives member Mike Quigley, ria.ru reports. According to him, he assured a guest from the United States that Moldova would keep all international agreements in force, including with the EU. “At the same time, the Republic of Moldova will seek to restore full-fledged strategic relations with the Russian Federation,” said Dodon. Relations between Russia and Moldova deteriorated in 2015. Then the Moldovan parliament signed an agreement with the EU, according to which members of the Russian parliament and government could not travel to Moldova. However, in 2019, the ban was lifted.
