Moldovan Prime Minister Maia Sandu spoke about the topics that she was going to discuss during her visit to Moscow scheduled for September. Among the most pressing topics: trade restrictions imposed on the Republic of Moldova, issues related to gas and prices within the next contract, the withdrawal of troops and the ammunition disposal from Transnistria, tvrmoldova.md reports. In an interview with Europa Liberă Moldova, the Prime Minister said: “First of all, we want to discuss trade, as previously was announced. We want to persuade the Russian Government to remove the restrictions imposed after the Republic of Moldova signed the Free Trade Agreement with the European Union. Of course, we will discuss the issue of gas supplies and prices within the next contract, which should be signed before the end of this year. We will also discuss the withdrawal of troops, the ammunition disposal from Transnistria. We intend to firmly state our position that this should be done. We will also clearly state that the government opposes federalization, and that this issue will not even be considered.” The Prime Minister also said that the secret plan for solving the Transnistrian problem cannot be realized behind the government’s and citizens’ back. “I think that everyone is aware of the need for Moldovan citizens to participate in solving the Transnistrian problem, and we know that citizens will never give their consent to federalization,” the Prime Minister emphasized. We remind that Maia Sandu was invited by the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to visit Moscow in September this year. Point.md
