France needs to redefine its relations with Russia, said Republic President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday, August 27. According to him, it is impossible to build new security architecture in Europe without Russia. “If we don’t take the necessary steps here in Europe, we will remain in an atmosphere of tensions, frozen conflicts and the consequences of the Cold War,” said Macron. According to him, “every day you need to take steps” towards each other. Speaking about the areas of cooperation with Russia, Macron stressed the importance of cooperation with Russia in the sphere of space and cybersecurity. "We need to think over our space strategy together with Russia," he said on Tuesday. "Let’s not forget that in the course of our history, we have managed to do that. As for space, as far as I understand, our main allies are not Americans," the French leader stated. "Together, we need to think about cyber strategy," he noted. Also Macron emphasized that the era of Western domination in the world is ending due to geopolitical changes. On August 19, Macron met with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Their negotiations lasted more than 3.5 hours. The heads of state discussed international and bilateral issues. Izvestia
