Ukraine has Suspended the Severance of Relations with Russia

Ukraine has suspended the process of termination of bilateral agreements with Russia, Kommersant reports. In November 2018, the then Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin promised to revoke about 40 agreements. However, since then no document has been denounced. The pause can be explained by the fact that the team of the new president, Volodymyr Zelensky, is still busy with more urgent issue. Nevertheless, the Russian Foreign Ministry told that the resumption of previous practice or its abandonment will show the future relations between the two countries and drew attention to the lack of news about the breakdown of the next agreement. Also the Russian Foreign Ministry told about a series of unshakable Russian-Ukrainian agreements that have never been called into question. As an example, he cited bilateral agreements regarding cooperation in the field of nuclear energy. Agreements on the establishment of diplomatic relations, on government communications, and agreements on the functioning of each other's cultural centers also work stably. The parties interact in legal matters such as readmission or mutual extradition of criminals. Lenta
