President Maia Sandu spoke about the achievements and failures during the year of her presidency.
Speaking about the main achievements, the head of state noted that it was a year of serious changes, ‘because together with the citizens we managed to expel corrupt persons from the government who bullied people,” reports unimedia.info
“This year we have laid the foundation for changes, we have begun to put things in order, but we still have a lot of work to do to achieve the desired results. There were also difficult times because we are in a pandemic, we lost people, incurred economic costs caused by the pandemic. Due to the pandemic, an economic crisis arose, which caused prices to rise. So, of course, there were good things, but there were also many difficulties,” said Maia Sandu.
At the same time, according to the president, the low level of vaccination is “our joint failure, including the authorities”.
“This is our joint failure, including the authorities, because we were the first country to bring the vaccine and provide access to it, but there was a political situation, a campaign after which the incidence decreased, there was a summer period when no efforts were made to promote vaccination, a lot of misinformation appeared. By the time the new government got to work, many citizens had heard all sorts of fables about vaccines,” Sandu said.
