Civil Congress Is Leaving the Alternativa Parliamentary Group

This was announced by party leader Mark Tkaciuk, who noted that “a parliamentary group loses its purpose if its members claim they are not responsible for the actions and statements of their colleagues, yet remain together”. “Parliamentary factions have always been, and continue to be, formed to unite politicians with shared political views, to jointly defend those views or, at the very least, everything that was promised to voters during the election. If there are shared views, shared goals and a shared strategy, and shared responsibility for every word spoken and every pre-election promise – then there is a faction. If none of this exists? – Then there is no faction. Neither I nor my colleagues in the Civic Congress see the point of a parliamentary faction in which its members loudly declare that they ‘no longer bear responsibility for the actions and statements of their colleagues in the group’. And yet they remain together! In the current situation, any ambiguity is unacceptable. And that is why the Civic Congress is leaving the Alternativa parliamentary faction. This is the only morally acceptable way to be honest and open about all our statements, all our past and future actions, and all the promises set out in our election manifesto,” said Mark Tkaciuk. It should be recalled that the MAN party had previously left the Alternativa faction.
