Home / Politics / Spinu: Eurocontrol’s Funds Were Verified and Audited
Former Infrastructure Minister Andrei Spinu has responded to the scandal at MoldATSA following public allegations regarding the alleged disappearance of a three-million-euro grant provided by Eurocontrol.
Spinu claims he sees “attempts to drag him into” this case and pointed out that he has not held the post of Minister of Infrastructure since November 2024, according to omniapres.md
“Anyone receiving an unjustified salary must be dismissed immediately, regardless of their family ties,” stated the former Deputy Prime Minister.
Commenting on the situation involving the former director of MoldATSA, Dumitru Vangheli, Spinu maintains that he must be held accountable if it is confirmed that he falsified information in his CV.
“If Dumitru Vangheli falsified information in his CV, then he must answer for it. What I have seen from him in the public domain is far from convincing,” said the former minister.
As for the allegations regarding the three-million-euro Eurocontrol grant, Andrei Spinu maintains that these funds have been audited.
“All funds allocated by Eurocontrol for the payment of salaries and the installation of CAT3 equipment were fully audited and verified by Eurocontrol,” he said.
The former minister also called on MoldATSA’s management to publish full details of how the Eurocontrol funds were used, including the amounts transferred and the expenses incurred.
Andrei Spinu’s response came after the former director of MoldATSA, Sorin Stati, claimed on a television program that the three million euros allocated by Eurocontrol to the Republic of Moldova in 2022 had allegedly “disappeared”. Later, Vasile Costiuc, leader of the Democrația Acasă party, announced that he had lodged a complaint with the Prosecutor General’s Office and demanded that an investigation be launched into the matter.
