Russia invested more than $ 430 million in Ukraine during the first half of 2018. At the same time, the total investment volume in Ukraine reduced by 30 percent. In the first half of 2018, Russia became the largest investor in Ukraine, State Statistics Service of Ukraine reports. According to the data, Russia invested $ 436 million in Ukraine, which is 34.6 % of the total investment. Twice less was invested by Cyprus ($ 219 million or 27.4 %) and the Netherlands ($ 207 million or 16.5 %). They are followed by Austria, Poland, France and the United Kingdom. Financial and insurance activities attract the most investments ($ 750.5 million which is almost 60 % of investments). Trade and vehicles repair are $ 120.5 million (9.6 %), industry is almost $103 million (8.2 %), information and telecommunications are $ 100 million (7.9 %), real estate activities are $ 75 million (5.9 %) and scientific activities are $ 55.8 million (4.4 %). Data exclude the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and the Donetsk and Luhansk regions where there are military operations.
