Russian Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev at a meeting of the Moldovan-Russian intergovernmental commission, which takes place in Chisinau, said that countries need to discuss the implementation of new projects, which will bring relations between the countries to a new level. “Today’s meeting should give a new impetus to the development of bilateral relations. Today we have to discuss not only the resumption and revitalization of traditional areas, but it is also necessary to study the implementation of new projects that will bring our cooperation to a fundamentally new level,” Patrushev said, ria.ru reports. According to him, the interaction between the countries has recently been characterized by a high frequency of bilateral contacts, including at the highest level, and this has a positive effect on strengthening relations between the countries. The Russian delegation included representatives of federal ministries, departments, representatives of the diplomatic corps, and leading commercial organizations. “We believe that we have every opportunity to strengthen our bilateral cooperation, Moldova is traditionally a strategic partner for Russia, Russia welcomed the creation of a new coalition government. The changes that Moldova went through open up favorable prospects for Moldovan-Russian relations. It is important to note that there is mutual interest in the further development of the dialogue,” added Patrushev. The long-term development of bilateral Moldovan-Russian economic relations is determined by the “Programme of Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation for 2009-2020”, signed in Chisinau on November 14, 2008. Its implementation is monitored by the intergovernmental Moldovan-Russian commission for economic cooperation, which has been operating since 1996. The last meeting of the commission was held in 2016. Vice-premier for the reintegration of the country Vasili Sova is a co-chair of the commission from Moldova. Point
