According to the Head of “Bulgartransgaz” Vladimir Malinovthe Turkish Stream began the gas supply to Greece and Northern Macedonia. Via the Turkish Stream pipeline the Russian gas began to ingress to Greece and Northern Macedonia. On Sunday, January 5, stated Vladimir Malinov, the executive director of the Bulgarian “Bulgartransgaz”on the local radio BNR.. Deliveries for the three Balkan countries are now made through a new entry point on the Bulgarian territory - the compressor station "Strandzha 2 / Malkoclar". The head of Bulgartransgaz emphasized that at the moment the full potential of the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline is not used, but Sofia is ready to do it if necessary. From January 1, 2020, Russian gas began to ingress into Bulgaria through the Turkish Stream. Moscow and Sofia managed to agree on gas at the end of 2019. As expected,  Bulgaria will annually receive about 2.9 billion cubic meters of gas. Earlier, Russian gas went to the countries of Southern Europe through Ukraine, Moldova and Romania. It is expected that the delivery of fuel through the Turkish Stream will allow Bulgaria to save about 35 million euros per year in transit and reduce the price for consumers by 5 percent. Both lines of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline through the Black Sea have already been built and are ready for service. The capacity of each of them will be 15.75 billion cubic meters of gas per year. One line is intended for the Turkish market, the second - for Southern and Eastern Europe. The grand opening ceremony of the gas pipeline in Istanbul is scheduled for January 8.
