Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky did not accept PM Oleksiy Honcharuk's resignation. This was reported on January 17 by Zelenskiy's administration. In addition, President instructed law enforcement agencies to find out who recorded the conversations of the prime minister, ministers and representatives of the National Bank of Ukraine. “I demand that in two weeks, as soon as possible, we receive information who made the recordings. Find who did this and figure it out,” the president said at a meeting with the heads of security departments and added that it was also necessary to find out the identities of all those on the tape and make it clear under what circumstances the meeting was held. Also, the president did not accept the prime minister's resignation, saying that "now is not the time to shake the country economically and politically." The head of state said that he thought and considered it right to “give a chance” to Honcharuk and his government if they solve a number of issues “which are very important and exciting for the society”. Recall, the day before, an audio recording was released in Ukraine in which people with voices similar to those of the prime minister, deputy head of the National Bank and the finance minister discuss the country's economic policy and make unflattering comments on the President Volodymyr Zelensky's competence. In addition, a man with a voice sounding like voice of Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk admits that Zelensky is "utterly ignorant in economy." The next day, Honcharuk resigned.
