President Igor Dodon said that he had not yet decided to run in the presidential election, since now is not the time to think about it. He stated this on Friday during the weekly program The President Is Answering on his network social page, infotag.md reported. "We conduct polls every two weeks. Despite all Plahotniuc’s criticism and incriminating evidence, people trust the president. People trust those who are near them. I travel around the districts, meet people. Despite the pandemic, I go to hospitals and communicate. Maia Sandu is instead afraid of people; she wears a mask even if she holds a press conference and nobody is in the hall. She’s probably afraid of microphones and if she went to hospitals she would faint, ”Dodon said. Speaking about his ranking, he suggested that he could win the election in the first round. “Maia Sandu and Andrei Nastase started the election campaign and are now deciding which of them will go to the second round. For them, the main thing is to dump Dodon.  For their whole life they have been fighting against somebody. And if I go to the presidential election, I’ll go to do something for people, but I haven’t made a decision yet because now is not the time to think about it. Now we need to fight the coronavirus pandemic. And if one can’t help then at least don’t interfere. Let the government work. This government will do it and then you criticize, " Dodon said, referring to the opposition. Answering the question about the possible nomination of a single candidate with the Democratic Party in the elections, he said that "each party makes its own decisions."
