A special parliamentary commission, which was investigating the circumstances of the abduction in Chisinau of the former Ukrainian judge Nikolai Chaus, established the involvement of some state departments of Moldova in the incident. This was announced today at a press briefing by the PSRM deputies who are members of this commission. As the socialist Grigore Novac noted, traces of the crime lead to the presidency building, and the Information and Security Service controlled by Maia Sandu tried to confuse the commission members by misleading them, aif.md reports. “We did not see any openness on this issue from the presidency, and the ISS tried to lead us on the wrong track,” Novac said. At the same time, a member of the commission, Adrian Lebedinschi, said that it was possible to establish that Chaus had been under surveillance for a long time, and in January 2021, on the eve of Maia Sandu's visit to Ukraine, the ISS provided her with an information note on this case. The Information and Security Service of Moldova carefully conceals information on both issues,” Lebedinschi said. “Not only secret services of Ukraine are working tirelessly on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. Currently, several groups of other foreign secret services are in our country, who monitor officials in Moldova - MPs and not only. I will apply with a request to the Prosecutor General's Office and legal authorities in order to verify the ISS activities. The Information and Security Service allows the secret special services to track our citizens,” he stressed. Adrian Lebedinschi also noted that the ISS director, Alexandr Esaulenco, in a strange way, got access to the materials of the commission, which were in the safe of the parliament. PSRM deputies believe that this indicates that they are also under surveillance. “ISS tried to erase all traces, destroy all evidence,” Grigore Novac added. The deputies of the Party of Socialists will address these facts to the Prosecutor General's Office and law enforcement agencies.
