The government approved the bill "On Financing Agreement ratification between the Republic of Moldova and the International Development Association (IDA) on the implementation of the emergency response project on COVID-19, signed on April 28 this year. As Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbraveanu explained, the project contains two components, monitorul.fisc.md reported. Part I: “the amount for emergency response to COVID-19” equal to € 52.3 million to provide immediate support aimed at preventing local transmission of infection through strategies for isolation, prevention and control of viral infections and the provision of intensive care medical services for patients suffering from severe acute respiratory infections; Part II: for management, monitoring and evaluation of implementation the amount of EUR 0.6 million for project management activities (financial management, procurement, environmental and social needs) and project monitoring, including third-party evaluations. The financing agreement will enter into force upon Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and the World Bank ratification after the implementation of all internal legal procedures. The project will be implemented within 2 years, until April 30, 2022.
