Foreign Minister Kuleba says alliance decisions on open door policy get "dust covered" Ukraine lamented the lack of progress in NATO's open-door policy, saying it did not understand why it was not invited to the bloc's summit in June. NATO leaders will meet in Brussels on June 14 as part of efforts to improve transatlantic ties under US President Joe Biden amid growing tensions with Russia. “We understand the desire of the allies to hold a closed summit but we don’t understand how it is possible not to find a format for Ukraine’s participation,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said. Earlier this month, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on NATO to strengthen its presence in the Black Sea region and asked the United States to support Kiev's bid for a NATO Membership Action Plan at the upcoming summit. Speaking at a press conference in Kiev, Kuleba said that Kiev is grateful to NATO for "the constant confirmation of the open-door policy," but added that not a single step was taken to implement it. “When we in Ukraine are accused of too slow implementation of reforms, then what about adopting and implementing alliance’s decisions which have been covered with dust for 13 years?” - Kuleba said.
