Home / Politics / Voronin Admits that the PCRM Will Have a Separate Faction in Parliament
The Communist Party of the Republic of Moldova may form its own parliamentary faction in the new parliament, separate from the Patriotic Bloc.
The final decision will be made next week at the plenary session of the PCRM Central Committee, party member Diana Caraman told TV8.
“All decisions will be made at the Plenum. At the moment, no decision has been made. The Plenum will be held next week, and you will find out everything then,” Caraman said.
“As in the previous convocation, we will consider all options,” added the deputy, emphasizing that if a decision is made, its explanatory memorandum will also be published.
Recently, PCRM leader Vladimir Voronin, number 25 on the Patriotic Bloc list, told the Russian media that the creation of a separate faction would not mean an end to dialogue with opposition forces.
Soon after, the PSRM responded to the Communist leader’s statement about creating a separate parliamentary faction.
“The PSRM is in the process of appealing the results of the parliamentary elections in the courts and then in the Constitutional Court.
The decision on the formation of parliamentary factions, in accordance with parliamentary regulations, will be made and announced at the first session of the elected parliament, provided that the elections are approved by the Constitutional Court,” the political party said in a statement.
