Moldova’s candidate status, political dialogue and reforms, economic and sectoral cooperation, particularly in the energy sector, are the topics to be discussed at the EU-Moldova Association Council on 7 February.
Information has been published on the website of the European Council. Global and regional challenges, the military action in Ukraine and the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict will also be discussed, radiomoldova.md said.
The meeting in Brussels will be co-chaired by European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell and Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita. The European Commission will be represented by Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Policy Oliver Varhelyi.
The EU-Moldova Association Council will be held for the seventh time. It will be the first time the country will attend the event as a candidate country for accession to the European Union.
