Former Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat said that we can expect an increase in the tariff to 18.48-20.04 lei per cubic meter of natural gas.
The statements were made in the context of the fact that yesterday, 2 December, Moldovagaz purchased 46,234,285 m³ of natural gas at a price of about 605.05 euros per 1,000 m³, bringing the total bill to 27,965,565 euros, equivalent to more than 540 million lei, noi.md reported.
“While Maia Sandu is enjoying a €100,000 bonus for ‘promoting democracy’, Moldovans are crushed by a +150 million lei gas bill. And this in just 10 winter days!
Yesterday, December 2, Moldovagaz purchased 46,234,285 m³ of natural gas at a price of about 605.05 euros per 1,000 m³, for a total invoice of 27,965,565 euros, equivalent to more than 540 million lei.
This huge financial burden on consumers is a direct result of ‘good decisions made over the summer’ when opportunities to purchase natural gas were missed, all due to incompetence and stupidity.
This example is just the beginning of the cold season, when the financial burden on citizens will continue to grow. An urgent strategy is needed to avoid similar situations in the future.
Until then, Moldovans will continue to pay for the wrong decisions of the current government. Perhaps, instead of praise and awards, it would be better to see real and responsible actions aimed at alleviating the burden of utility bills.
P.S. We will face a tariff of 18.48-20.04 lei per m³,” Filat wrote in the social network.
We remind you that the natural gas tariff for Moldovagaz domestic consumers increased by 27.5% - up to 16.74 lei per cubic meter, including VAT.
The new tariff came into effect on 1 December this year.
Executive spokesman Daniel Voda said the state will provide compensation to all those who need it.
